Perceptions is a series of self portraits, in which I focus on distortion, perception and self reflection. Using lenses, mirrors and water my aim is to create a dimension of space in which I become the observer observing the observer. Through an intuitive and instinctual process parts of my subconscious are brought to the surface through the medium of paint to be healed and released. Here I collect faces and spaces in flux which transform along the journey. My work is autobiographical in its nature, focusing on themes of identification, archetypes, self-expression and the realms of the psyche. Each singular self portrait becomes it's own thumbprint, the many smaller parts of self, which make up the whole.
