I initiated this project at the artist residency Arquetopia in Peru 2020 and am still currently developing it. My aim is to continue with the question “how much can you know the other?” instigated at my last residency at Arquetopia 2018.

Using the title of ‘the self, other and the space between’ I am exploring the relevant themes within my work, such as: identification, the body, gender, the shadow, self-expression and reflection, imagined worlds and social consciousness;

Following the notion that ‘change is the only constant’ I want to focus on the unknown, the void, transformation, personas and faces in flux; I want to engage with oppositions, duality, friction and the unknown, putting a greater emphasis on “the space between.” Stepping beyond the generated oppositions of black vs white, good vs evil and into the variety, differences and never ending possibilities of the unknown.
