I’ve never been a natural wordsmith, in fact I’ve always been a little word shy, the saying “A picture tells 1000 words” appeals to my visual nature. Yet I find music, theatre, poetry and literature an endless supply of inspiration. Each art form relates and influences the other, crossing paths with themes, messages, emotions, in constant conversation.
Whilst working on each creative process, it is essential that I have music filling the room, not just to create the right atmosphere, but also to uncover hidden messages. Listening to particular songs and lyrics can feel like someone has reached deep down and pulled out a part of your most intimate soul. Over the years I’ve realised I get my best messages through music, intuitively drawn to songs and lyrics that mirror the thoughts and feelings and aid me through my creative journey.
I’ve titled these works with lyrics, songs, albums that speak to me, enticing intimate thoughts and feelings from my hand. The rhythm encouraging movement and intuitive brush strokes that mirror the dance of life.
